Build the technical foundation
Enterprises don't scale with agent number seven built in a different repo with different logging and different permissions. A shared platform means every new agent inherits the same identity model, observability, evaluation discipline and security posture.
A minimal agent platform
- Identity and access: SSO, role- and attribute-based access control, agent service accounts with constrained scopes.
- Tooling: standardized connectors, typed tool schemas and validation, rate limits and allow-listing.
- Knowledge: retrieval with access filters, document freshness and versioning, citation and provenance.
- Observability: tracing across steps and tool calls; cost, latency and error rates; decision logs and approval events.
- Evaluation harness: scenario-based offline tests, online drift monitoring, red-team suites.
Treat agent delivery like any enterprise software
- Development, QA and production environments.
- Gated promotions.
- Separation of duties.
- Repeatable deployments.
If every agent is built differently, you don't have an enterprise program; you have a prototype zoo.

2. Where do access filters belong?
